I can’t believe my girls are 2 years old today! I’m so in love with them! My sister asked me the other day if I miss my traditional locks. Not at all!!! I am absolutely in love with my sisterlocks!

Here are some pics of their progress. The first two pictures are from week 1 (October 2009). The next two pictures are when they were 3 months.

Wow, time surely does fly.  I haven’t updated seems like in forever. I can’t believe I’ve had my SLs for 5 months already!  They are growing, and budding and stuff…and I love it.  I also celebrated 3 years of Nappturality on 10.3.11.  What an amazing natural journey this has been thus far.  As for an update, I had my last re-ti on 10.13.11 and she had to add two new locs in the back as my hair was growing straight crazy at my nape.  So my count is now 471. I’ve noticed that my locks at thickening up because even after a re-ti, it’s not the scalpy look I use to get. I go faithfully every 5 weeks to get my hair done.  She’s doing my re-tis still in less than 2 hours which is THE BOMB!

Hello people!  I had my 3rd re-ti this am and my hair is doing well.  Its only been like 30 days since my last re-ti and my loctician said that my new growth wasn’t that bad.  I guess she meant how it usually is.  At any rate, she had to create a few new locks in some areas where I had breakage from before having my SLs installed.  She also combined one or two.  BTW, let me just say that my loctician is the bomb.  She started on my hair at 8:10am and was finished by 9:30!  Love love love how quick she is.  My next appt is 10.11.11

I purchased some lock loops and I really liked the results. I was going to a surprised 65th party for my uncle. I knew I had to do something to my coif, so I washed it, let it dry some then put in the LL. I was so nervous, because if they didn’t turn out decent, I would of have to come up with something else. To my surprise, I liked the results. The curls were much loser than my curl with the regular sponge rollers. I will be revisiting these loops frequently.

Well, well, WELL!  Today marks 3 months of having my #sisterlocks.  Time definitely waits for no one.  At any rate, I love my sisterlocks more today than I did on day one and as they continue to cultivate and grow, my love grows fonder.  I can explain how much I enjoy the freedom of NOT having to comb or detangle my hair.  WoooooooSAH!!!!!!!  I had a flashback!  LOL

I ordered me two pack of lock loops to curl my hair…I can’t wait until they come.  I’ve look at butt loads of YT videos and I love the look that these curlers provide.My sponge rollers…not so much.  LOL  Until next update, ya’ll be good!  YES, I’m a country southern girl that says “ya’ll”…..LOL

Ok, so on 8.23.11 I’ll be 3 months sistelocked.  My that time seem to have flown by..right?  At any rate, I’m noticing A LOT OF FRIZZINESS going on.  Did any of you sisters with SLs experience this.  I don’t mind it, I’m just wondering.  I’m able to camouflage the frizz, so that makes it better to deal with.  I’ve noticed that my hair is thickening and that I LIKE!  I will have my 3rd retightening on 9.3.11 or somewhere in that area.  I haven’t noticed a lot of shrinkage, so I hope I’m not interfering with my locking process by styling my hair.  God help me, I surely HOPE NOT!  Not a whole lot to report, but I’ll be back to update after my 3rd re-ti.
